Today saw the release of the DirectX 12 preview patch for Deus Ex Mankind Divided on Steam. In this video, we look at how it changes performance in this game versus DirectX 11.

As you see in the above video, Performance (At least on our test PC) is slightly slower on DX12 vs DX11. It must also be noted that this particular patch doesn’t support SLI/Crossfire configurations. As this is a preview beta patch we can hope for more optimizations before it gets pushed to the full release.

Test PC Specification:

  • Asrock Z170 Extreme4 motherboard
  • Intel i7 6700k @4.4ghz
  • 16gbs ddr4 corsair vengence LPX 3000mhz
  • Asus Strix 980ti 6gb SLI
  • Corsair neutron 256gb SSD X2

If you wish to test this DirectX 12 Patch out for yourself navigate to the Properties section of Mankind Divided on steam, Hop over to the Betas tab and select the dx12_preview from the drop down menu. After this, the game will download a 77MB update to enable DirectX 12.
