Overview
ASRock is a manufacturer of motherboards based in Taiwan, they have a long history of great products and exceptional engineering. Today we are going to look at the most robust model of its Fatal1ty gamer series, the Fatal1ty Z270 Professional Gaming i7. This motherboard takes full advantage of the capabilities of the Z270 chipset offering a series of vital elements for every gamer.
Asrock’s new mainboard series for Kaby-Lake CPUs brings with it a number of innovations. The easiest to see is the Aura RGB illumination, which most models benefit from. The more affordable mainboards with Z270 chipset are called Fatal1ty Gaming K4, Extreme4 and Pro4. They have two M.2 slots for SSDs connected via four PCIe lanes each. While the Falal1ty has two LAN ports, the Extreme4 in this price class benefits from USB 3.1 to Gen2 with Type A and Type C connectors alone.
If you then jump to the top of the portfolio, you encounter the Fatal1ty Z270 Professional Gaming i7. The highlights of the extensive equipment are the 5 Gbit fast LAN, which is accomplished via an Aquantia chip. A second LAN port provides conventional Gigabit LAN. Two graphics cards can be installed on the Z270 Professional Gaming i7 in SLI or three for Crossfire.
In addition to the cheaper models, three SSDs can be used over M.2 slots, all slots are connected via 4 PCIe lanes. If you chose to use the SATA Express instead, there are two 10GB/s ports.
