4. Conclusion
The be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 is an excellent case, packed with all the latest features. It is a good option even for the most demanding users. The added modularity, adaptability and versatility of the Midi-Tower are enticing. Due to the number of features, the Dark Base Pro 900 is currently unrivalled in this price class.
Thanks to the modular design, it is highly adaptable based on your own needs. The cooling system is thought out and offers many cooling options including dust filters.
I was disappointed with the fan control, in theory, it’s a great idea but there was no speed difference between the Auto and Manual settings on the front of the case. In the end, I connected the fans directly to the motherboard which improved the performance while reducing the noise.
In addition, I would have expected at least one USB Type C connector on the front next to the USB 3.1 ports.
There was also a misalignment between glass side panel and top cover, the tempered glass stuck out 2mm. This isn’t a lot but considering the effort that went into the design process and the overall price of the Dark Base Pro 900, I would have expected flush transitions.
In a crowded market where unique or flexible options are limited, the Dark Base Pro 900 is a refreshing addition. The unrestricted modularity gives the end user full flexibility.
