Eidos Montreal has announced Guardians of the Galaxy. The game will be released on October 26 for consoles and PC.

Guardians of the Galaxy is based on the comic book series of the same name and features an original story starring Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot. The game is completely focused on the single player experience and does not contain any microtransactions, DLC or cooperative modes.

Players play as Star-Lord, who has his rocket boots and pistols at his disposal. During battles, it is also possible to use Guardians’ skills to perform combos. For example, some team members have attacks that increase the stagger bar of enemies, which can temporarily paralyze them.

Guardians of the Galaxy takes place on various planets, which players visit with the Quinjet. In between the action, the game presents various choices – sometimes in the form of dialogue options – that have consequences for the course of certain situations.

Finally, the game features a soundtrack featuring music from the 1980s, including Pat Benatar and Bonnie Tyler.

Guardians of the Galaxy releases on October 26 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC.
