Ever since Microsoft announced that they were creating a 4k capable console, gamers have been wondering if that means every game will achieve that resolution.
While not every game will achieve true 4k resolution, a leak appears to confirm that Bethesda’s Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and The Evil Within 2 are both set to run in 4K along with High Dynamic Range visuals.
Now the leak doesn’t confirm that it’s a native 4k resolution and instead may involve checkerboard rendering to upscale it to 4K. there still should be a marked improvement in visual fidelity over the base Xbox One console.
While first party games like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gears of War 4 will achieve native 4K, there are games from 3rd parties that should at least get close. They include Bioware’s new IP Anthem. However, Bioware will almost certainly not achieve a native 4K resolution with a title that demanding.
Assassins Creed Origins is also set to receive a graphical and performance boost from the One X. Given that previous Assassins Creed games could only achieve 900p and 30fps on the Xbox One, AC Origins is guaranteed to be a massive step up in quality.
