PUBG Corp. took what they say is their “first step in a recommitment” in response to the criticism they’ve been under recently from their fans. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds players had made it known that BlueHole needed to focus on bug fixes and performance improvements over additional content.

Recently the BlueHole-owned studio had mentioned that players have been “heard loud and clear”. PUBG Corp. also agreed that the game still needed more improvement, prioritising server performance, client-side performance, anti-cheat and bugs.
A Boy Can Dream
From a competitive standpoint, this writer was eager to see a massive increase in the overall tick-rate and a decrease in desync/lag early-to-mid-game. Unfortunately, none of that is in this patch.

They Tried… I Suppose
Quality-of-life issues, small bug fixes and minor improvements are the name of the game today, alongside the re-introduction of Dynamic Weather. When playing on either Erangel or Miramar when it’s overcast you will be able to enjoy the dynamic weather, otherwise it’s hot and sunny everyday.
There are changes to bullet penetration, colour-blind settings, graphical options and inventory management. Players can finally Ping positions without opening the map, keeping you in the moment and not so confused about which house the enemy is actually in.
For any of you who play in squads but prefer not to talk or be talked at(you know who you are!) there is now a player by player mute function for you to enjoy.
