Vodafone Offering FREE Phone Repair to Launch ‘Two-Hour’ Fix & Go Service

Irish consumers with broken smartphones are being thrown a lifeline as Vodafone are offering no-strings, completely-gratis repairs at two of their busiest stores tomorrow, Friday 5th October. Between 12 and 3 PM, anyone who wants their screen or headphone jack repaired or anything in between needs to head to Vodafone branches on Grafton St., Dublin or Patrick Street, Cork to sample Voda’s ‘Fix & Go’ service.

The service is being rolled out in Ireland for the first time and Vodafone promise to repair any phone sold in the Republic within two-hours of admission.

Jean Christophe Langer of Vodafone Ireland said; “We understand that accidents happen. That is why we are delighted to launch ‘Vodafone’s Fix&Go’, the new in store repair service that allows customers of all networks to have their phone fixed in two hours or less. We are committed to providing a quality service to all our customers and will offer an extra warranty on all repairs at no extra cost.”

Insurance Concerns

Vodafone also did a little research and found that 87% of smartphone owners don’t have insurance for their precious – a shocking figure considering Ireland’s affinity for premium devices. What’s less surprising is that around 40% of smartphone users have had some need of repair within the last twelve months according to the same survey. With their new simplified pricing scheme and two-hour service, Vodafone are hoping to step in when the worst happens.

Below is a table with the most common handsets and how much each band of repairs will cost after the free trial this Friday. ‘Fix & Go’ Band 1 covers viruses, freezing issues and RAM problems. Band 2 covers problems with audio, ports and buttons – headphone jacks, MicroSD slots, volume controls, charging etc.. The highest tier, Band 3 covers screen/display and motherboard replacement.

Vodafone are also offering a 1-year warranty on all repairs so customers can have some peace of mind after dropping another few bob on their phones. We’d like to remind you that the service is available for handsets of any network.
