After strong sales in its first week, Nintendo has announced that The Switch has beaten its predecessor the Wii U and become its fastest-selling console ever in Europe.

Not only that but Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild has also become their biggest selling games of all time, beating out the monster that was Wii Sports.

It’s all the more impressive given Nintendo decided not to create any sort of bundle deal when launching the Switch. While Nintendo did not release any numbers, they did say “We can confirm that, across Europe, Nintendo Switch sold more in its launch weekend than any other Nintendo hardware in history.”

While over 80,000 units were sold in the UK, which is double that of the Wii U, it still lags behind both the PS4 (250,000) and Xbox One (150,000).

This is all good news for Nintendo who not so long ago must’ve been wondering if they had a future in the console business.

There have been complaints however with many people saying that the connection between the joy-con and the Switch cuts out when playing on a tv with consumers also saying that the screen gets scratched when docked.

All in all, it seems that the vast majority of consumers are happy with their console and it’s very rare that there aren’t bugs involved when launching a new piece of hardware.

Before it was launched the OS menu was leaked in a video with Nintendo reporting that those consoles were in fact stolen by an employee.
